    Great Purchase

Finished the last 6 weeks of this Canadian winter with this new purchase. The jacket fits well to the size recommended on the sizing chart. The construction is excellent and the warmth allows me to ditch layering in more extreme cold. The ability to remove the hood makes the jacket adaptable to different cold levels. The zipper is finicky due to the waterproof function and takes some getting used to. As this is a new purchase, I cannot comment on long term durability. So far, I can give an unqualified recommendation for purchase

Tolerance for cold weather: I get cold very easily
    Coldest temperature comfortably worn: -8 ℉ (15-20mph, wind chill ≈ -30 ℉)
Very Good, but not what I expected.

The Good: Warm, comfortable, great fit and very light. Storm cuffs are awesome. Pockets where needed and easy reach. Best fitting hood ever, and internal shaping is great. Tough, windproof and water-repellent shell will last a long time.

The Bad: For me it's not for prolonged below 10⁰F without other heavy clothes under it. Cold penetrates on the elbows and shoulders; caused by the tough shell compressing the down.

The Ugly: The zipper is horrid until after an extremely long break-in.

Conclusion: Great jacket, highly recommended for non-critical cold weather; sports watching, skiing, hiking, chores, etc.

Next edition please: Add structural suspenders to keep jacket weight from flattening the shoulder insulation. Add fold in shell fabric at the elbows to minimize insulation crush from arm bending. Also add a 2-3 inch skirt (elastic option) inside between waist and crotch as a wind-stop.

    Amazingly Warm Parka

The Chenega II Parka is the warmest jacket that I have ever owned! I wore this parka in 4 degree, 12 degrees, 20 degrees and 30 degrees weather and I was so warm! I couldn't believe the warmth of this parka. The build quality of this parka is outstanding. In addition, I was impressed with the packaging that this parka came in. For size reference, I'm 6'2" about 194lbs with an athletic build and I got a size large (fits me really well). I'm happy with my purchase, and this jacket will be a cold weather staple in my winter wardrobe for years to come. Great parka Triple F.A.T Goose!

Tolerance for cold weather: I always feel warm
Coldest temperature comfortably worn: -35 so far
    Great, but.....

Coat is true to size, very warm, nice features EXCEPT one. An expensive heavy coat like this should have a zipper larger than a child’s jacket. Really people? Very wimpy hard to sip fastener. Overall I am satisfied with the fabric, fit and warmth of their coat( wind chills of -35 the last few day) but the zipper absolute needs to be replaced with heavy duty larger zipper.

We’re glad to hear your jacket is keeping you warm, but we’re sorry to hear that you aren’t fully satisfied with the zipper. Please note the Chenega II features a high-grade water-repellent zipper in a standard adult size. The zipper is made from durable materials, and it provides a tight seal that prevents water from penetrating into the coat.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our customer support team, and they will be happy to assist you. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, and we hope you stay warm and safe this season!
