We do not offer temperature ratings because everyone experiences temperatures differently. Instead, we issue a general guidance for the warmth experience of a particular coat when compared to the full range of coats that we produce.
When I received this jacket, I started telling everyone this was the best purchase I’ve made in the last 10 years, easily. I have expensive wool coats, technical coats, and casual coats, and none come close to this.
Purchasing was a breeze. Recieved it in about 36 hours. You can tell there was a lot of attention to detail and material choices here - lots of different textures and fit all hit the mark. Stitching is strong throughout, zippers are definitely premium, and even the rubber logo is high quality. Even comes with a soft touch storage bag to put away in the winter!
The most important thing is keeping warm. I got this jacket, and on a night that hit 5 degrees with windchill, I wore this jacket with an undershirt for a 30m walk. I actually got giddy how warm and comfortable I felt being out in the elements.
If I had a gripe, it’s a small one. The jacket zips up to just below the chin, and the hood does not stretch. If I want the hood to come over my forehead, I need to unzip slightly, pull the hood, and rezip. There is also no waist cinch, but I have not felt any airflow beneath the jacket as others have mentioned.
Other than that 10/10 for this purchase. If I end up buying a parka, it’ll be through TFG. I’ve told everyone to check out the site because of how satisfied I am.
Lightweight and fit as expected. Will need to wear extra layers as the temp drops, so far only tested in -11 weather.
I’m very satisfied with my jacket, but I had a elastic draw string put in the waste to tighten when zipped up.
So far so good! I've only worn in the coat in 32 degree weather but was pretty warm. The winter has not set in yet in Chicago but I don’t doubt that the coat will uphold to frigid temps.
Nice jacket, but I was expecting it to keep me warmer when it's around 30 degrees outside. I wish I knew there was a version that was warmer.
